About Eleanor
I am trained in identifying and adapting to students’ various learning needs (visual, auditory, kinesthetic). I am TESOL-certified, certified in ACE and trauma-informed care, and have extensive experience working with vulnerable children and adults from underserved and overburdened communities. I am incredibly consistent, committed, and responsible regarding meeting times, class content, community agreements, and empowering others through education.

As a teacher, paraprofessional, English teaching assistant, and Spanish tutor, I have years of experience teaching ESL students, students with disabilities and behavioral issues, incarcerated students studying for the GED exam. I have experience teaching English and Model UN debate skills to high schoolers in Madrid, Spain, tutoring college students in Spanish courses, and developing lesson plans for elementary school students at public schools in Brooklyn and Harlem. I am happy to help with vocabulary, reading, essay writing, editing, pronunciation, cultural content, and more! Whether you’re a native Spanish speaker hoping to learn English or an English speaker wanting to learn/improve their Spanish, I am passionate and more than qualified for the position! We’ll work together to create a “curriculum,” establish goals, and foster a safe and fun atmosphere :)
