About James
I like to say I am a young guy - age is just a number. I know because I teach Maths! Thankfully, I do think my tutoring is better than my comedy but sometimes a bit of humour helps!
I like my sport - both watching and playing.
I am quite active. I go to the gym and play tennis every week.
I do follow the premier league and pupils do often ask me who I support.
But for those who don't like football, when I do get asked the question:
"Sir, which football team do you support?"
I often say "I am a big supporter of...
...your education!"

The approach is dependent upon the tutee/client's purpose for tutoring. I am a qualified teacher and DBS-checked and the level/duration of sessions delivered can be for anyone from ages 10-18.
Here are just some of the approaches to tutoring that I have delivered in the past:
- Be their Maths teacher - particularly for pupils who are home schooled. This has involved delivering 30 minutes sessions several times a week, though the length and frequency will dependent upon the independence of the tutee.
- Make 'catch up' progress. Many pupils may have missed large chunks in their education. My approach is to address and improve the fundamental skills that pupils had not been given the chance to learn, which are vital for future learning and success when achieving high grades that they are predicted.
- Confidence building - to raise achievement in the classroom so that pupils do not feel they are behind their classmates or be able to impress their teachers. This involves weekly one hour sessions and either looks at the current topic being taught and either consolidate knowledge or extend their knowledge so that the next topic in sequence can be learned easily in class.
- Revision - particularly for years 11, 12 and 13 whereby the pressure is high to perform well in high stakes assessments. This will involve quickly finding / addressing gaps in knowledge to achieve certain target grades.
