About Wendy
I have always loved learning foreign languages and have a BA Hons degree in German. As an adult I have lived and worked in Germany (Leipzig, Dresden, Berlin and Frankfurt) for over seven years - initially as a translator in a publishing house and later as a language teacher. My first husband was German, so we always spoke German at home.
After completing my PGCE I worked in England as a German teacher in state education and for the last five years I have been working as a private tutor. I keep up my German by watching German films and news as well as reading novels in the German language.

I specialise in helping students to prepare for their A level or GCSE German exams. I am familiar with the AQA, Edexcel and Eduqas examination boards and over the years I have helped many students to do very well indeed in their German exams. I always tailor my classes to the needs of my students, no matter whether someone wants to improve their spoken German for the oral exam, wants help with their German grammar or wants help all round with their speaking, reading, listening or writing skills. I provide exam practice if required and I always give students homework in order to consolidate the work we have done in class. I do, however, ensure that my classes are fun too.
Having said that, I also teach adult learners ranging from students who want to learn German from scratch or as a false beginner level as a hobby to learners who intend to work or study in a German-speaking country and need to pass the B2 or C1 exams.
