About Anna

Hiya,

I'm Anna and I'd love you to get in contact with anything you might want some help with with your studies! German and Philosophy was my university degree so are my main subjects but I'm interested in and good at a broad range of things, so if you're struggling with anything to do with the other subjects I've listed don't hesitate to shoot me a message. I can especially help out with GCSE subjects and absolutely loved History A-Level so please do message if this is what you're wanting help with.
If you're struggling with German, let me know! I'm very passionate about languages and know how boringly they can be taught in school. I've done a lot of going around schools and holding workshops with kids and doing language plays as a way of engaging them. I also lived in Berlin for a year and was lucky to become fluent as well as get a proper understanding of German culture and history. I'll make sure we keep by any curriculum you have to follow, but will make the lessons interesting and interactive. We'll look at films, listen to music, read articles and stories together and generally use as many other varied forms of learning as possible - I really enjoy teaching, so I'll make sure the lessons are fun for my own sake too!
Equally, if you're studying Philosophy or thinking about taking it up, I can help you out in any way. My degree at uni was a four year degree, which gave me a really good grounding in European philosophy, specifically Philosophy of language. I was also given a proper training in how to write a good essay and how to play to your own strengths, and know how tricky this can be to get right, so am more than happy to give you help here as well.
I've been a tutor on a different online website for a few months so already have experience tutoring people through GCSEs and A Levels. I really enjoy it - I'm not a classroom teacher, so I'll listen to you and let you tell me how you'd like the tutorials to pan out, and what you're wanting out of them. I'm here to help you through! Perfect! Highly recommended tutor!
Anna has helped immensely with my speaking examination. She taught me not only a lot of vocabulary and proverbial phrases but also a structured way of forming an argument, speaking clearly, and getting your point across.

What I believe makes Anna a great tutor is that she adapts to the student's needs to ensure that they cover their weaknesses. For example, there was a clear discussion whether a more conversational lesson to build vocabulary and confidence or one with more structure and exam technique was better suited. I had a mixture of the two.

Furthermore, Anna is very patient and friendly; she is always willing to repeat, rephrase and explain a piece of grammar or vocabulary.

Overall, Anna is highly recommended and I have had a very positive experience with her tutoring.
