About Juliette
I am friendly, enthusiastic and experienced tutor in English, Maths, and Chemistry, and have taught a wide range of ages – from 5 up to 20.
Having achieved A* grades at A level in English and Maths, I understand the practicalities and skills needed to achieve high grades in both GCSE and A level exams.
However more than anything, I value the nurturing of my students' confidence to help them achieve (and exceed!) their expectations. I recognise that English is often not taught very well in school, and many of my students come to me with little confidence. It is very important to me that my students gain confidence in their ability, alongside better grades.
Many of my previous students have gone on to exceed their predicted grades, and gain places in their top choice university.
I have also more recently begun teaching English as a second language, and am working towards the Ofqual level 5 TESOL qualification.

I have experience tutoring a broad range of ages, from primary school to university level.
Normally I tutor children up to 18, however for lessons in English as a second language, I can teach any age.
My lessons are 1 hour long. Before commencing lessons, I am happy to organise a call to discuss the desired outcomes, past academic attainment, specific problems, and desired goals from our sessions.
I am particularly aware that COVID has affected the academic confidence of many students, and so have focused on ensuring that my lessons are welcoming and above all, supportive for my students.
Many of my GCSE and A level students attain A/A* grades in their exams, and secure places in Russel Group universities. Others are simply looking to pass their resits – whatever the academic goal, I am excited to work with you towards it.
I am currently working towards achieving my Ofqual level 5 TESOL certificate, after completing classroom-based English teaching as a second language in Indonesia and Germany.
