About Bryan
Lessons will be 1 hour for up to GCSE-level maths and/or physics.
My lessons will challenge student's deep understanding of concepts and will focus on instilling an understanding of 'why' and encourage lateral thinking - how to apply concepts in different styles of questions. I love to see the joy of realisation - the 'aha!' moments. My teaching style revolves around seeing the topic from the student's point of view and trying to encourage a curious mindset, as well as a positive atmosphere where students feel comfortable to both try their best and make mistakes.
Lesson structure will approximately follow:
Student presents a weak topic/concept -> a discussion centred on practice questions -> students attempt further questions encouraging verbal explanation when possible to strengthen understanding
I have extensive teaching experience, involving co-founding my own society (ESEA society) during sixth form focused on teaching students (ages 11-13) different cultures and tackling discrimination. Also acted as a teaching assistant, leading and training a children's choir (age 9-11) involving 6 different schools across several weeks for a 15-school performance of 'Zimbe!'
