Hi! My name is Beth. I have recently graduated university and have ample amounts of real-world practical teaching experience as well as multiple virtual work experiences in teaching. I have a 2-year-old daughter and am passionate about helping the next generation develop their learning and hopefully their passion for geography!

I can teach geography for those aged between 14-18 who are completing GCSE or A-level. I have experience teaching geography in an SEN class, volunteering to teach abroad, and recent experience teaching Geography to an A-level class in Sixth Form. I prefer to take a student-centric approach. What this means is that I like to first hear the student's opinions on which topics they struggle most with. This may be a specific topic e.g. hazards or may be exam techniques. I like to use real-world examples in my lessons to help students conceptualise the content and therefore enhance their knowledge. I also like to use past-paper examples in lessons to help students understand the content they need to learn and how to display this in an exam. The typical length of a lesson is one hour, I believe this is enough time to develop knowledge without overwhelming students and causing academic burnout.
