About Sally
Dia dhuit!
Is mise Sally agus táim ar fáil chun cuidiú leat le bhúr ndúshláin teangacha
I am a master's student with a minor in French. I am passionate about the nuances and richness of the Irish language and hope to instil this curiosity and grá for gaeilge in you too! I achieved a A* in the Irish version of the A levels and have attended the Gaeltacht and Irish classes throughout my academic career. I have over two years of experience giving Irish lessons on Superprof.
Mo Taithí Múinteoireacht:
I have previously taught Irish to second-level students from 1st to 5th year as well as adult beginner lessons. I aim to break down the learning barriers students may face, help them unlock their linguistic potential, and achieve their desired grades.
Learning a language not only improves our attention span and focus but is also scientifically proven to boost academic performance across all subjects (this includes Irish!)
The student-led approach:
As a former student and practising educator, I can relate to the challenges students may face and aim to adapt our lessons according to the student's learning style, to give them the optimal learning experience.
Don't hesitate to reach out to me with any requests or enquiries!
Le gach dea-ghuí,
Sally.

I offer comprehensive lessons in Irish... centred round you!
I aim to simplify the convoluted nuances of our brilliantly complex native language by:
- breaking down the numerous grammar rules
- variable grammatical structures
- provide opportunities to practise and reinforce these concepts via sentence and oral expression relevant to the learner.
I believe the way to master the language is by regular exposure and lots of practice. What better way to do this other than to give students a chance to use Irish to express themselves and what they are passionate about in life!
My goal is to provide lessons that are enjoyable and adapted to the learner's needs and learning style to optimise their experience.
I take a three-pronged approach:
1. Translation - into English, to develop knowledge of the language
2. Recall - composing sentences in Irish, to enhance understanding
3. Audio/ oral - training the ear, to process the new language
What does this look like?
Lessons delivered via Google Meet:
- Oral conversation
- Reading aloud
- Vocabulary-building
- Key grammar notes
- Dictation & creative exercises
I like to keep my lessons varied by incorporating a mixture of learning methods, this helps to keep the student engaged and strengthens their command of the language.
(I provide all notes and resources via a continuous google doc)
