About Flora
I gained a HNC in Mathematics at university a couple of years ago and have tutored high school students through their National 5 and Higher Maths exams. I am currently studying bookkeeping and accounting and so still use Maths on a daily basis.

I believe everybody can do Maths. The way Maths is taught in school is very one-dimensional and linear, but not everybody learns this way. The way one student learns something might not work for someone else and I think 1-on-1 sessions are very important in order to combat this and show students that they CAN do Maths, they've just been taught to look at it in a way that doesn't work for them.
I had a natural head for Maths in school, but I didn't always find it easy. I found that I had to often look for answers in another way to really understand what I was learning, the way things were taught in school didn't always work for me, I always needed to know exactly why something worked and they didn't teach that in school. What makes me good at teaching students is the experience I have with approaching Maths from all angles, the way I did in school.
