About William
I am a professional saxophone tutor with over 9 years of experience teaching college students. I believe learning music should be clear, enjoyable, and motivating. My teaching style focuses on building confidence along with strong technical skills. I take time to understand each student’s goals and design lessons that match their learning pace and interests.
My lessons cover tone quality, breath control, finger technique, rhythm accuracy, and musical expression. I balance technical exercises with creative practice so students stay interested and motivated. Improvisation and performance practice are included to help students become confident and expressive players.
I use real-life music examples to show how techniques are used in actual songs and performances. I also use modern teaching methods such as recording feedback, play-along tracks, and structured practice plans. These tools help students clearly track their progress and improve efficiently.
Along with saxophone playing, I teach music theory, ear training, and sight-reading to build a strong musical foundation. My lessons are supportive, organized, and encouraging. Whether your goal is performance or personal enjoyment, I guide you patiently throughout your learning journey.

My approach to teaching Saxophone is student-focused, clear, and creative. I believe strong basics lead to confident playing, so I focus on breathing technique, posture, embouchure formation, finger accuracy, tone clarity, and timing. These skills are taught gradually using simple explanations and real musical examples.
Creativity plays a key role in my lessons. I encourage students to experiment with sound, play familiar tunes, and practice guided improvisation. As a mentor, I support students with encouragement and practical advice, helping them stay positive and focused on their learning journey.
Critical thinking is encouraged by teaching students to listen closely to their playing and understand how to correct mistakes. Accountability is maintained through regular practice plans, goal setting, and feedback sessions. Along with Saxophone lessons, I also teach Music Theory, Rhythm Exercises, Ear Training, and Scale Practice to strengthen musical understanding.
