About Kazuma

I graduated from Waseda University in 2016 and then began my career at a leading advertising agency in Tokyo, where I worked in account management and later as an Account Director.

In 2024, I moved to the UK to pursue an MA in Media and Communications at Goldsmiths, University of London. After completing my Master’s degree, I continued my career in the UK, working for a marketing company and gaining professional experience in an international environment.

Through my career in both Japan and the UK, I have developed strong communication skills across different cultures and professional settings. I enjoy helping students learn not only correct Japanese, but also the natural expressions, cultural nuances, and communication styles that are actually used in everyday life and business.

Outside of work, I enjoy listening to music, especially jazz and dance music, and watching football. I am always happy to bring students’ interests into our conversations and make lessons enjoyable and engaging.

About the lesson

My lessons are tailored to each student’s goals, interests, and Japanese level.

With around 10 years of professional experience in advertising and marketing in both Japan and the UK, I can help you develop practical Japanese skills for professional settings, including business conversations, presentations, meetings, and discussions. I can also support students who want to improve their more formal or academic Japanese, drawing on my experience completing a Master’s degree in Media and Communications at Goldsmiths, University of London.

I also have over two years of experience teaching conversational Japanese. If you are looking for something more relaxed, we can focus on everyday conversation, natural expressions, Japanese culture, or useful Japanese for travelling in Japan.

My teaching style is friendly, practical, and flexible. Rather than simply memorising vocabulary and grammar, I encourage students to actively use Japanese through conversation and discussion, while explaining grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and more natural ways of expressing themselves whenever needed.

A typical lesson is around 50 minutes, but the length and lesson format can be adjusted depending on your needs.

Lessons are open to students of all ages and levels, although I especially welcome intermediate and advanced learners who would like to take their Japanese to the next level.
