About Tessa
I have 4 years of teaching experience in programming, guiding students through multiple languages including Python, Java, C++, and JavaScript. My sessions are designed to make coding engaging and practical. I use real-time coding demonstrations to explain everything from basic loops to advanced algorithms. Debugging is always part of my lessons, teaching students how to solve problems independently. For exam students, I focus on past paper practice and timed coding drills. I also support project-based learning to show how programming works in real life. My teaching style is clear, structured, and adaptable to each learner’s needs. Many students appreciate how I make complex ideas simple. I encourage both creativity and logical thinking during lessons. I encourage collaboration in my programming lessons to build skills and confidence. Students often explain their code, share ideas, and learn by discussing with me. I use pair programming and small group exercises when possible, so learners practice teamwork. Debugging is also approached collaboratively, with guided discussions about possible fixes. For exam learners, collaboration means working through practice problems together and comparing methods. For project learners, I support brainstorming, planning, and building applications with shared input. Each session balances guided teaching with interactive discussion. I encourage learners to ask “why” questions, which deepens their understanding. This collaborative style creates a supportive and motivating environment. Over time, learners not only grow as coders but also as problem-solvers and communicators. My aim is to make programming lessons engaging, social, and effective through teamwork.
