About Will
1st year student at Durham University studying theoretical physics, men’s national league hockey player. I found helping my friends with physics and maths over the years massively improved my own knowledge and understanding. I quickly grew to love teaching and tutoring - working through different perspectives and ways to view these problems and topics. Feedback from past students genuinely enjoying these subjects after our lessons pushed me further into how much I enjoy helping tutoring.

I start with listening, working with the student to find where problems may be coming from - whether a gap in knowledge, a needed slight shift in perspective or exam technique that’s costing marks. I work through how the student is viewing the problem and help them find the sources of the issue before tackling them together.
My focus is on developing systems and foundational skills to approach problems and topics to use when you’re sitting in front of a question that feels overwhelming - so you have a process to fall back on, not just a memory of what we covered.
