About Diana Marysol

I am a Spanish and ESL teacher from Mexico. Helping my students and tutees make progress in their learning journeys fulfills my heart. I am currently working as a Spanish instructor in Ohio, and I love spending time in nature admiring the beauty of the Appalachians. In my free time I also enjoy reading, watching series and doing jigsaw puzzles.

About the lesson

Teaching and tutoring in Spanish and English as a second language is my passion. I am a very analytical person and have always found fun ways to teach grammar. Moreover, I am familiar with the culture of Spanish speaking countries, and I enjoy having conversation sessions in which I can promote the appreciation of the Hispanic culture.
I believe a teacher's main role is to guide students in their learning process; help them get to know themselves as learners and gather the tools they need to build their own language knowledge and communicative competence. My goal is to help students and tutees gain independence and make them aware of their roles as active participants in their learning process.
My tutoring and instruction depend on every tutee's objectives and learning style, but I mainly create an environment where learning can take place. I provide my tutees with enough and appropriate input, interpretive activities and communicative tasks that will help them enhance their language and build their communicative competence. The use of backwards design, Task-Based Language Teaching, Comprehensible Input, authentic materials, appropriate feedback, the World Readiness Standards, and the three modes of communication make up my language instruction. All these strategies, standards, and methodologies, along with my vast knowledge of Tech Tools and cutting-edge educational trends, complement my tutoring and teaching sessions, and help me fulfill course objectives and keep students engaged.
