About Matthew
Hi, I'm Matthew - I teach maths because, since the ages of around 14/15, it has been my inspiration. I know all about the importance of a good teacher, because my passion for the subject can be traced back to one. Often, students seek tutoring because of a lack of confidence in a particular subject - but I know from experience that that feeling is never far from being subverted.
Maths can be frustrating but it can also be fun. I will always encourage questions from my students. Often students are embarrassed to ask questions in the classroom and the answers they get back from their teachers are often general and not personalised. Asking as many questions as you think of is definitely the quickest way to improve your mathematics!

I believe that students thrive when their unique mathematical comprehension is respected and understood. Each student has a different way of thinking and it is important for a tutor to understand this to enhance the learning experience for the student and therefore maximise their mathematical ability. I also have an in depth knowledge of the main exam boards from KS2 up to A-Level, so that a student's ability is reflected by that of their grade. My students benefit from practice based sessions, so my lessons will comprise of lots of example questions.
I currently teach maths to students from KS2 up to A level and each lesson is a one hour session done online.
