About Charley
Hi! My name is Mrs. Townsend, I am an elementary math teacher and I have taught over 150 4th and 5th grade students! I worked hard with them to make them the best mathematicians they could be! Every student I work with is a mathematician and can do anything they put their mind to!
Math is all about learning tips and tricks to help us solve problems; I will teach you all of the tips and tricks you will need. I encourage making mistakes because mistakes are proof that we are learning! As long as you try your best, you will be successful! I look forward to working with you, mathematician! :)

I absolutely love teaching, especially the moment whenever a student understands the content and can do it on their own! I love to celebrate accomplishments and I always say that without mistakes, we don't learn. I encourage you to make mistakes because that is proof that you are trying, and we can learn from our mistakes. :) I will make sure that you feel more confident with the math skills you are learning!
I typically start with a warm-up, something you feel comfortable with, that will set you up for the lesson. We will do a little bit of a mini-lesson, then you will do independent work and if you need help, I will be there to walk you through! I specifically teach elementary school and enjoy multiplication/division, fractions, decimals, etc.
