About Summer
I am a passionate tutor of New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) with a strong interest in inclusive communication and language learning. As NZSL is one of the official languages of New Zealand, I am motivated to help more people develop the skills and confidence to communicate through sign. I enjoy creating supportive and engaging lessons that focus on practical signing, facial expression, and real-life communication. I also value sharing knowledge about Deaf culture to help students better understand the community and the importance of accessible communication.

My NZSL tutoring lessons focus on building confidence in communication through practical signing, visual learning, and repetition. Lessons are tailored to each student’s level and goals, whether they are beginners learning basic vocabulary and grammar or more advanced learners developing conversational skills. I aim to create a supportive and engaging environment where students feel comfortable practising NZSL and learning about Deaf culture.
Happy to teach beginners to intermediate signers, as I complete my BA with an elective in sign language. Typical length of a lesson 30-60 minutes
