About Sharjeel

My name is Sharjeel, I am currently working in the automation sector where I work as an automation support engineer. My role involves supporting existing customer's who have an automation system. This will involve answering questions as well as solving problems stopping them from running. I work with robots and software automation which means I do programming that controls moving machinery. As the work I do involves working with robots it is important that I am very careful as anything changes I do could effect what the robot does and safe it is to use.

I like to do tutoring for 2 reasons. The first is I enjoy helping people learn and perfect skills. The second is I want to help teach the skills that help young people to become proficient at learning on there on.

About the lesson

Hi future students,

My tutoring style will involve planning, application and where necessary visual aids. Being someone who has dealt with dyslexia in the academic environment I have picked up some useful ways to learn that differs from the conventional methods used in schools.

Planning our sessions will involve setting goals, this includes short-term and long-term goals. This way we know where we are working towards and have milestones that we reach along the way.

Application will be to apply the method of working out problems and answering questions. Here we can put the theory to use. The best way to learn something is to do it and that is simply what we will be doing. As the old saying goes "practice makes perfect".

As can be expected explaining something or reading written explanations will not always sink in. Sometimes to really get a point across it is necessary to see something visual. Where necessary I will try to use visual aids such as diagrams to better explain methods to solving problems or understand key concepts. This is one of the ways I was able to better understand things being dyslexic and I am happy to do the same for my students.

Along with the above I will always try my best to make our sessions efficient ensuring we meet appropriate learning objectives without taking too much time. Of course I will also make sure we spend enough time on each topic, efficiency does not just mean going through it quickly. Being efficient means that you were able to take the knowledge in. I will make sessions fun and entertaining so learning does not feel like a chore. Most importantly I will help give you the tools to start tutoring yourself, one day you will no longer need me but that does not mean you will stop learning. I aim for our sessions to be a means for you to learn key skills that will help you in life to learn on your own.
