About Eleanor
I am a Physics graduate from the University of Birmingham and a full-time ski and surf instructor. I have a lot of experience in working with children and different types of learners as a ski instructor and as a physics teaching assistant for GCSE and A-level. I like to make Physics and Maths fun and accessible for everyone and often all that is needed is a little attention and extra detail in order to really understand the subject.
My Experiences
I have been a ski instructor for 8 years and I have worked across the world. In my everyday life, I meet many different people with many different learning styles and learning needs so I am very used to adapting my teaching style. In addition, I sometimes have to work in a very challenging environment where safety, comfort and psychology all have to be taken into account as well as learning! This has helped me to refine my teaching skills and my own approach to learning.

Many people dismiss Maths and physics as too difficult or "not for me" but I believe not only is Physics and Maths fundamental to an all-round education but understanding how to solve problems is a useful life skill. I like to take an approach where I link real-life problems to physics and maths. Whether that is explaining something as common as a rainbow or as complex as gravitational waves, it can all be made relevant.
My Approach to Learning
I believe in always being adaptable and that is why I always like to have a conversation with my prospective students about what they need, what their aims are and how we can get there together. For me, this is one of the most important parts of the learning process. FUN! The next important thing is to have fun. I want to have fun when I am teaching and I want my students to have fun as well. The great thing about tutoring is there is always room to have a little fun.
