About Callum
I recently graduated from University of Warwick with a first class BSc and Masters in physics.
I began teaching maths and physics several years ago, initially supporting peers before offering tutoring more widely. As subjects they can be so exciting but can be challenging or even boring if they are not well taught.
My particular passion is Astrophysics and my final project involved investigating planets outside our solar system. However I cover the full range of physics up to first year of degree and maths/further maths up to A Level.
I have experience tutoring and supporting students at GCSE, A Level, Mature students returning to education and degree students. I am aware of the particular challenges experienced by students with special needs such as dyslexia and dyspraxia.
I will also consider supporting university students in first year programming projects and am currently building my skills making games with C++ and Unreal Engine.

My lessons are tailored to the needs of the student, whether they are struggling with learning gaps, or looking to level-up their understanding in order to achieve top grades.
I work with the student, and for younger students, their parents, to understand the goals and to identify strengths and weaknesses:
For some students the most effective approach is supportive and patient. We move forward by breaking content down into chunks so the student can build a robust understanding of the fundamentals and the confidence to progress.
For others it is about sharing my passion for the subject and providing the motivation and support to engage them in more advanced – and exciting – problems so they can be stretched to their potential.
Research shows that students learn best by doing, so we will work through past papers and example questions. In some areas multi-media content and real-world examples can help explain concepts. For higher level students (A’Level and university) I can recommend lectures and other activities that will support their development.
