About Katie

Hello! My name is Katie and I am a passionate Montessori educator dedicated to helping children develop confidence, independence, and a genuine love of learning. With experience working with young learners in Montessori classrooms, I understand that every child is unique and deserves an individualized approach that builds on their strengths.

I create a warm, patient, and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing at their own pace. My lessons are thoughtfully planned to meet each child's needs while making learning engaging, meaningful, and enjoyable.

About the lesson

As a Montessori teacher, my approach is centered on nurturing each child's natural curiosity, independence, and love of learning. I believe that every learner develops at their own pace, so I tailor my lessons to meet their individual needs, interests, and learning style. Rather than simply giving answers, I guide students to discover concepts through hands-on experiences, thoughtful questioning, and meaningful exploration.

My teaching method and techniques focus on creating an engaging, supportive environment where children feel confident to take risks and learn from mistakes. I use Montessori principles such as observation, individualized instruction, concrete materials, and real-world connections to help students build deep understanding. I also encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and self-reflection, helping students become independent learners.

A typical lesson begins with a brief conversation to assess the student's understanding and goals. I then introduce or review a concept using interactive activities or Montessori-inspired materials whenever possible. Students have opportunities to practice independently with gentle guidance, and I conclude each session by reflecting on what they've learned and setting goals for the next lesson. Parents are also welcome to receive updates on progress and suggestions for supporting learning at home.

What sets me apart is my commitment to seeing the whole child. I prioritize building confidence alongside academic skills, creating lessons that are calm, engaging, and personalized. My Montessori background allows me to recognize each student's strengths and adapt my teaching so they feel capable, motivated, and successful. I strive to make learning enjoyable while fostering independence and a lifelong love of education.

My lessons are suitable for all-aged children, including students who would benefit from Montessori-inspired learning, homeschooling support, enrichment, or additional help in subjects such as reading, writing, mathematics, and early childhood development. I also enjoy working with children who need extra encouragement, individualized attention, or a more hands-on approach to learning.
