About Dimi

I am a qualified and experienced educator with a strong academic and professional background in design, technology, and languages. I have been teaching Design and Technology in schools since 2020 and hold additional leadership responsibilities as a Head of Year, reflecting my professionalism, reliability, and commitment to high standards.

Alongside my teaching career, I hold a degree in Interior Architecture and Design and have professional experience working in architectural and design-and-build practices. This enables me to support students effectively with NEA coursework and theory, using real-world examples to strengthen understanding, improve application, and meet exam board requirements.

As a native Greek speaker and an experienced English tutor, including teaching English as a foreign language, I provide structured, clear, and supportive lessons tailored to each learner. I am organised, approachable, and committed to creating a safe and professional learning environment where students can build confidence, develop skills, and achieve strong outcomes.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is student-centred, structured, and supportive. I believe that effective learning happens when students feel confident, understood, and challenged at the right level. I tailor each lesson to the individual learner’s needs, goals, and learning style, whether they are working towards exams, improving core skills, or learning a language for personal or professional reasons.

Teaching Techniques and Methodology

I use a clear, step-by-step teaching approach that combines explanation, modelling, guided practice, and independent application. Lessons are interactive and focused on developing both subject knowledge and transferable skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication.

In Design and Technology, I emphasise design thinking, creativity, technical accuracy, and exam-specific skills, supporting students with coursework, portfolios, and theory.

In English (including TEFL), I focus on building confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing, using real-life contexts and structured language practice.

In Greek, I teach as a native speaker, focusing on practical communication, pronunciation, grammar, and cultural understanding.

Regular feedback and clear targets are used to track progress and maintain motivation.

Lesson Length

A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, although longer sessions (90 minutes) can be arranged where appropriate, particularly for exam preparation or coursework support.

Qualifications and Experience

I am a qualified Design and Technology teacher with several years of experience teaching in schools since 2020. I also hold a degree in Interior Architecture and Design and have professional experience working in architectural and design-build environments. Alongside teaching, I have held leadership responsibilities as a Head of Year, strengthening my organisational, mentoring, and pastoral skills.
I am a native Greek speaker and have experience teaching English as a foreign language to learners of different ages and levels.
