About Panagiota

I am a graduate student in Cognitive Sciences. I have a degree from the University of Lyon in social sciences and anthropology as well as a certificate in pre-medical sciences from the University of California at Los Angeles. Over the past few years, I have worked a lot on bilingualism and the brain. Previously, I gave Greek lessons to the children of the Greek school in Lyon for a year. I grew up in Cyprus, where I am now.

For the moment, I will not be teaching in person. I will start giving classes in person at my home or at the student's home from mid-September. Even though my current address is in Lyon, I will be living (and thus teaching) in Paris.

About the lesson

First, the lessons are structured according to the abilities, needs, and time of the student.

I, myself, had trouble speaking in foreign languages in the past, so, I pay a lot of attention to speaking in order to develop not only the knowledge but mostly the confidence of the student.

I also like to introduce students to Greek music. I find that a lot of non-Greek people enjoy all kinds of Greek music, especially rebetiko.

Although I try to speak Greek as much as possible during classes, I can also give Greek lessons in English for those who feel more comfortable in English (or those who want to practice their English too).

I fully understand the cancellation of classes, so as long as there are no repeated last-minute cancellations, I do not charge anything.
