About Carson
Music theory, chord transitions, and reading tabs become clear when we relate them to real sounds rather than dry books. I sit with my guitar, recalling the 7 bands I played in and the 6 records I released to help you navigate your own musical path. Studying at Los Angeles College of Music gave me the academic grounding to explain why certain notes work, but my 12 years of playing across North America taught me how to actually perform them.
Lead guitar, blues progressions, and grade exam prep are simply tools we use to express ideas. My neurodivergent-affirming approach relies on visual and kinesthetic learning styles to ensure that acoustic technique, barre chords, and fingerpicking make sense to your brain. Songwriting feels much less daunting when you have someone who understands the technical hurdles. Maybe you want to reach out and see if my methods fit your way of playing.

Silence is actually the most important part of our hour because it gives you space to process the vibration of the strings. We ignore traditional stiff methods in favor of a sensory approach that centers on your ears and tactile feedback.
I provide free chord charts and tab sheets after each class so you can keep practicing the specific patterns we just mapped out together. My Bachelor of Arts in Modern Music means I can explain complex shapes without needing you to memorize dense manuals.
Learning is often messy, but I keep things grounded in practical application so you can play songs you recognize. You get the benefit of my touring experience applied directly to your current struggles with tone or technique. You will leave the session knowing exactly what to do next.
