About Briar
I have years of experience teaching and performing guitar in diverse styles. My teaching emphasizes patience, adaptability, and encouragement, creating a positive environment where students grow technically and artistically. I focus on helping learners develop their own musical voice, blending skill development with creative expression. Witnessing students progress from beginner exercises to confident performance is deeply rewarding. Outside teaching, I perform, compose, and collaborate with musicians. My guitar lessons balance technical skill with creative exploration. I guide students through chords, scales, fingerpicking, strumming, and improvisation while fostering a personal musical voice. Lessons are structured yet flexible, adapted to each student’s goals, style, and level.
Beginners focus on basic chords, rhythm, and hand positioning to develop comfort and coordination. Intermediate learners refine chord transitions, fingerpicking, and stylistic versatility. Advanced students explore tone shaping, advanced techniques, improvisation, and performance readiness. Music theory and ear training are seamlessly integrated for deeper understanding.
I encourage students to connect emotionally with their instrument, transforming practice into a meaningful, expressive, and inspiring musical experience. Each lesson fosters creativity, confidence, and personal growth.
