About Charlotte
I am a guitar tutor with nine years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance and Contemporary Styles. I teach learners at all levels, from beginners to advanced students, helping them develop technical proficiency, musical expression, and performance readiness. My teaching style is student-centered, adaptive, and interactive. Lessons integrate theory, improvisation, repertoire practice, and performance preparation. I emphasize building confidence, creativity, and expressive skill while nurturing each student’s individual musical voice. Outside teaching, I perform professionally and explore multiple musical genres, bringing real-world experience and inspiration into lessons. I guide students in performance preparation, improvisation, and stylistic interpretation. My guitar lessons are designed to cultivate technical skill, musicality, and performance confidence in learners of all levels. Beginners focus on chords, strumming, basic scales, and finger placement to develop a solid foundation. Intermediate learners refine fingerstyle techniques, improvisation, rhythmic precision, and melodic phrasing. Advanced students focus on solo performance, stylistic interpretation, complex repertoire, and expressive musicality. Lessons include ear training, sight-reading, and performance exercises to build comprehensive skills. I encourage a growth mindset, treating mistakes as valuable learning experiences to foster resilience, creativity, and confidence.
Lessons combine technical exercises, repertoire practice, and expressive exploration. Finger dexterity, hand coordination, and picking accuracy are emphasized alongside musical interpretation. Performance preparation, duet work, and improvisation exercises are integrated to ensure students can apply their skills in real-world scenarios.
Additionally, I focus on developing stylistic versatility and expressive freedom. Students learn to interpret music emotionally, create their own musical ideas, and perform confidently. By the end of instruction, learners gain the technical proficiency, musical understanding, and expressive capability needed to perform authentically and creatively in diverse musical settings.
