About Charli
We spend the first session checking your tuning and basic holding technique. I like to keep things simple while we look at reading sheet music or tabs.
You will learn fingerpicking and lead guitar basics fairly quickly. I provide custom backing tracks so students can practice soloing at home. We also touch on songwriting and basic maintenance for your instrument. This keeps you moving steadily toward your musical goals.

Most people assume guitar is all about playing fast. I prefer to start with the mechanics of how a string resonates. Being a BMus graduate from the Toronto Faculty of Music gives me a technical base.
Playing in the Montreal Symphony Orchestra influences how I hear harmony. My studio in Edmonton welcomes teens and returning learners. Absolute beginners often find my calm pace helpful for building confidence. Grade exam candidates gain a clear path toward their goals.
I find joy in teaching the fundamentals of acoustic and electric technique. You can expect a logical approach that focuses on consistency rather than shortcuts.
