About Gail
"Playing guitar for 13 years has been a journey through diverse musical landscapes. It feels like I am constantly refining how I explain rhythm to absolute beginners and advanced players alike.
My practice combines my formal BMus Popular Music training from Queensland Conservatorium and my time in Argentina. I am from Havana, and my approach is deeply rooted in the authentic feel of Latin music, which I teach to my students in Australia.
Whether you are a hobbyist or someone aiming for the stage, I bridge the gap between technical theory and the soul of the instrument. I often help my intermediate learners master complex chord transitions and lead guitar scales. This specific cultural connection is what makes my teaching distinct for those seeking more than just rote learning. I truly love the sound of a well-played nylon string in a quiet room."

"Focus is key. We start by listening to your favorite songs before turning them into simplified arrangements that fit your current level. This makes the music theory, such as modes and reading sheet music, feel much more relevant to your goals. You will navigate barre chords and fingerpicking patterns with ease as we break them down into digestible parts.
I draw upon my 13 years of experience to ensure the technical work feels like music rather than a chore. If you have a specific tune you want to learn, we work on that directly.
It is amazing how quickly those reading tabs skills improve when you are playing something you actually enjoy. The environment is always relaxed and open to your input. Perhaps we can start on your favorite track this week."
