About Louis

I have been playing guitar for 15 years. I graduated from McGill University and have been teaching since. It's been more than 5 years now. All guitar styles and music genres.
Why am I a teacher? The answer is quite simple. I want to pass along my passion for the instrument and for music in general.

When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

I developed a keen interest in guitar 15 years ago when I went to Tracy Chapman's concert in Lyon, France.
I was so mesmerized by her performance and from that day, I decided to learn guitar.

  • 02

What makes you passionate about your subject?

Music is a place where the more we learn the lesser it seems we know, it's always intriguing. But most importantly, I feel like by playing the instrument we can express ourselves like no words can ever do. And that's powerful.

  • 03

What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

Well, one of the best ways to learn something is by teaching someone else what you know. In order to always keep learning and being good at my instrument, I think teaching is the ultimate secret, and I love it. It is also a way for me to interact with a wide variety of people all passionate about the same thing. It's a work that's human, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

  • 04

Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you? Please explain.

I definitely do. Probably the biggest influence I had was my first teacher. He taught me how to learn the instrument in such a fun way… I was never bored. Also, I taught myself how to feel more confident and creative over the years, and I will always thank him for that.

What are your keys to success?

There are two: being curious and persistent. If you have that, you win.
