"Picture yourself sitting down, guitar in hand, as we tune up and dive straight into the specific mechanics of rhythm guitar or fingerpicking. We work through the details of power chords, barre chords, and smooth chord transitions to ensure your hands feel comfortable on the fretboard.
Once the basics are settled, we transition into improvisation or ear training to sharpen your musical intuition. I apply my BM Contemporary Music training to ensure you understand maintenance and tuning before we finish. It is truly about getting you playing the music you love with confidence. "Playing guitar in the Australian Latin music scene for 6 years taught me that music is often a family affair. I admit that I struggled to find teachers who understood the specific rhythmic nuances of my heritage when I first started my musical path. Holding a BM Contemporary Music degree from AIM gave me the technical framework, but gigging gave me the soul.
I now focus on helping self-taught players find structure and performance-focused students hone their craft. It is rewarding to guide returning learners who want to pick up the instrument again after a long break. Many of my students come from the Latin diaspora looking for a mentor who speaks their language.
I enjoy breaking down complex concepts for players who have hit a wall in their progress. My approach keeps things simple and rooted in the traditions I love."
