About Ben
Hey there, I'm Ben! A totally obsessed songwriter and multi-instrumentalist with 26+ years of making music under my belt and I love teaching others why playing music is the best way to spend your time. I started teaching in 2016 and found a job at a small music store down the street from me called Picks & Sticks. After a couple of years, I was teaching 30+ students 4 days a week. Since then I've taught at Waterdown Music Academy, with Juan Arce Music and I've subbed once in a while at Capstone Music in Burlington.

Helping you discover why playing guitar is a gift that keeps on giving, that's something that is indispensable in our lessons.
I do my best to not sway students to play specific styles over others. Every lesson has a good dose of focusing on what's musically exciting to you, while supporting you with exercises and songs that will help you reach those playing goals.
Some specific areas we touch on in lessons are:
* Understanding theory in a way that doesn't get in the way
of our playing and make learning boring or confusing.
* How to listen to and learn any song you choose
* Creating your own songs and exercises
My lessons are best suited for beginners and intermediate players, with advanced players getting the most out of my extensive experience in alternate tunings, fingerstyle and composition.
