About Mae

I am a passionate guitar tutor with 11 years of experience helping students grow as confident musicians. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Guitar Studies and bring both academic knowledge and practical performance experience to my lessons. Music has always been a creative space for me, especially when writing and arranging original pieces. I enjoy guiding students to explore their own musical ideas.

My teaching style is encouraging, supportive, and centered on the needs of each learner. I believe every guitarist develops at a different pace, so I adapt lessons to match individual goals and learning styles. I focus strongly on building solid foundations in scales, rhythm, technique, and musical understanding. I also help students develop songwriting and arranging skills so they can express their own musical voice.

Performance skills are another important part of my teaching. I work with students on confidence, stage presence, and expressive playing. My lessons are especially helpful for intermediate to advanced learners who want to refine their technique and musical creativity. I also support professional musicians who wish to expand their skills and musical range.

About the lesson

My guitar teaching approach focuses on building strong musical foundations while encouraging creativity and personal expression. I guide students through technique, rhythm control, chord progressions, scales, and fretboard understanding. Lessons also explore music theory, ear training, improvisation, and songwriting so learners understand how music truly works.

I help students discover musical storytelling through phrasing, tone shaping, and expressive playing. We practice dynamic contrast, tension and release, and theme development to make performances more engaging. Students learn how melody, harmony, and rhythm work together to create emotion in music.

For learners interested in energetic modern styles, I focus on lead guitar techniques, riffs, stage presence, and confident performance skills. I also support students who want to guide musical worship or group singing, helping them develop strong rhythm playing, chord voicings, and musical sensitivity.

Each lesson is adapted to the student's level and goals. My aim is to help every learner grow technically while developing a genuine passion for playing guitar.
