About Hong

"If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart." To me language is the key to enter a nation and its culture. With ten years entrepreneur background in China I have the ability of active listening, connect and engage with all my students. I`m a professional, qualified, native communicator in Mandarin. I`ve been teaching online since 20 March, 2020 during pandemic. Some of my students even prefer online lessons more now than face-to-face - due to access to a large resource and material I use. My objective is every moment of learning should be a joy, refreshing and improvement. * Additional information: I have been teaching Mandarin to different age groups, from 5 years old to adults. I have a solid academic background and strong knowledge of the Chinese culture. I was raised in an academic-conscious environment and am enthusiastic about my own culture and heritage. Besides teaching I was also involved in various extracurricular activities such as International business weeks and teach Chinese cultural customs. Earlier in my career I worked within the sales sector and earned an MBA degree in sales & marketing majors. My business & sales background, helped shape my pragmatic teaching style which is much welcomed by both students and parents. I find China’s language, writing and culture fascinating and my goal is to impart my love of Chinese. The results of teaching Mandarin to non-native children and adult learners has been extremely rewarding. I use a pragmatic teaching style with an emphasis on mastering the tones. I am a member of the UK Association for the promotion of Chinese education. University : - Greenwich Business School - MBA Other Qualifications : I teach privately and lead Mandarin Clubs in a few local schools.
