About Lavonda
Complexity in finance often masks simple truths that are frequently overlooked by textbooks. I rely on my 13 years of experience to demystify capital budgeting, corporate finance, and financial markets for my 241 students.
Understanding bonds and equities or Excel for finance is far easier when you strip away the unnecessary noise. Beyond those areas, I incorporate risk and return, cost of capital, and portfolio theory into our regular discussions. My MBA in Accounting from McGill Desautels provides the rigorous framework I use to teach these subjects. It is satisfying to watch a student finally grasp a concept that used to feel impossible.
