About Nobir

I am currently working full-time at a private school, established 1764 (HMC), Independent Day School (over 1200 students year 3 -13). As a teacher of mathematics, I have taught across the full range, year 7 to 13, and ability range. I am very sensitive to the performance and self-esteem of the children in my care, whether this is in a Maths classroom or a Tutor room. I plan lessons which are highly motivating to students with an effective use of personal resources (when possible, with ICT) to engage students’ interest. During Covid-19 remote teaching, I made my lessons available to all students using Youtube platform (link Tutor Bedford - YouTube).

About the lesson

I am very passionate about mathematics, I have graduated with First Class BSc (Hons) in Mathematics. I have a strong record of getting the best out of the students I have taught which has been reflected in their exam performance.
I currently mentor our Oxbridge candidates, by helping them with MAT (Oxford) and STEP (Cambridge) exam preparation and also, I do mock Interviews for Oxbridge candidates from other Harpur Trust schools. I worked in conjunction with University of Bedfordshire as a PGCE mentor. As a subject mentor I was responsible for the student teacher working in our department. In partnership with all staff working on the programme, we helped trainee teachers to develop an ability to reflect on their own practice and encouraged them to meet their professional standards and targets. My role included observing the student teacher on a regular basis, and overseeing their planning and evaluation of lessons or schemes of work they produced.
