About Heidi

Teaching piano remains a constant joy after 13 years of working in studios and concert halls. I earned my Master of Music in Music Performance from the University of Toronto, which informs my focus on jazz improvisation, scales, arpeggios, dynamics, expression, sight reading, pop, contemporary styles, and pedaling technique. Direct instruction allows me to provide practical guidance that helps you see tangible musical growth.

Performing on stage for many years shaped my perspective on what really matters during a live set. I enjoy working with students who want a clear path to the stage.

About the lesson

Starting with a diagnostic playing assessment ensures we build a plan that suits your current ability level perfectly. We cover technical elements like scales and arpeggios alongside artistic expression to ensure you understand how to shape a musical phrase effectively.

My 13 years of performance background provides the foundation for our deep dives into sight reading and contemporary rhythm work. Expect to spend time on pedalling technique and jazz improvisation to expand your creative toolkit during our time together.

We prioritize sound quality so you can hear your own progress during every single practice block. My Master of Music degree informs how I approach complex dynamics and song structure in a way that remains approachable. Feedback is immediate and constructive to help you navigate tricky passages with confidence. I genuinely look forward to hearing your music evolve as we work toward your performance goals.
