About Valerie
Guitar maintenance is easier than it looks. I offer a free trial session to assess your starting level before we jump into electric technique. We will spend time on blues progressions or scale work depending on your current needs.
It is fun to see beginners handle their first real song. I make sure that everything we do feels accessible and engaging for everyone involved. Sometimes we focus on technical rigor for exams, while other times we lean into creative expression.
I hope to help you play with confidence and joy. Let us get started on this path together soon.

Guitar playing is a deep physical connection between the hand and the string. My Bachelor of Arts in Music gives me a structured way to teach scales, modes, and blues progressions to students of all ages. I have spent 12 years teaching 426 students ranging from kids to absolute beginners. Whether preparing a candidate for a grade exam or helping an adult find their rhythm, I enjoy the variety of my work.
My own experience as a songwriter informs how I explain tuning and maintenance to my pupils. I want to help you reach your musical goals through clear guidance. My history with music is long and varied. I am here to help you get where you want to be.
