About Josh

I am a professional Afrikaans Tutor accredited with a MS Finance from one of the best Finance graduate schools in New York City.

Want to learn Africa's most unique language? Have plans to visit South Africa and blow the locals away with your amazing understanding of Afrikaans? You have the opportunity to learn with a born and raised South African, who is technically sound and gifted - and most importantly PASSIONATE - about the wonderful language of Afrikaans. I am open to teaching at your preferred location! Given high demand, please book as soon as possible

I love meeting people from different cultures and learning about your hobbies, work, and experiences. Making mistakes is completely okay — it’s part of the learning process, and I’m here to guide and encourage you.
If you’re looking for a friendly tutor who listens, supports you, and helps you grow your confidence in learning the beautiful language of Afrikaans, I’d love to work with you.

Extra Info about me:

I’m born and raised South African, with a South African Dutch-English accent. I also speak Spanish, some French, and some Italian, so I understand what it’s like to learn and navigate different languages. I’ve lived internationally too — one year near Miami and five years in New York City — which has given me a global perspective and a deep appreciation for different cultures and ways of communicating. I love helping students build confidence, improve fluency, and feel comfortable speaking the wonder. I’m here to support you and make learning enjoyable. I look forward to meeting you!

About the lesson

I am versed in all Afrikaans grammar, and have experience in New York City's Finance, Real Estate, and Loan Origination markets. I am able to teach business Afrikaans, as well as intermediate and beginner levels.
