About Sonya

My name is Sonya, and I hold a BA in Economics and Human Resources with a specialization in language and communication. I’m a native Hebrew speaker with a strong command of English (C2), and I bring both academic knowledge and real teaching experience to every lesson. I've worked with new immigrants and children, helping them gain confidence and fluency in Hebrew through a clear, encouraging, and structured approach. My goal is to make students feel comfortable, motivated, and genuinely excited about learning. I’m professional, reliable, and passionate about teaching - your progress is my priority.

About the lesson

As a Hebrew tutor with a background in communication and language studies, my approach is centered on clarity, patience, and adaptability. I tailor each lesson to the student’s level, goals, and preferred learning style- whether they are complete beginners, heritage learners, or new immigrants looking to improve fluency.

A typical lesson includes a combination of vocabulary, speaking practice, grammar in context, and interactive exercises using real-life materials (like songs, articles, or short conversations). I focus on building confidence and creating a safe space to make mistakes and learn from them.

What sets me apart is my ability to explain complex language structures simply, and my bilingual fluency (C2 English + native Hebrew) which helps bridge the gap for English-speaking learners. Lessons can be conducted fully in English or gradually shift to Hebrew, depending on the student’s comfort.

I teach both children and adults, and I’m especially effective with English speakers looking to gain conversational skills, improve reading and writing, or prepare for life in Israel.
