About Julia

Hello, I'm Julia.

I am going to be a junior at UCLA, majoring in Political Science. As a Korean American, I grew up speaking Korean at home and also had the opportunity to live in Korea for about six years.

My tutoring journey began in my first year of college when I helped a friend learn Korean before she went to Korea for a study abroad program. As I watched her Korean skills improve over time, I found myself genuinely enjoying the teaching process. Seeing her gain the confidence to communicate with native Korean speakers without feeling nervous made me incredibly proud and inspired me to continue tutoring.

Since then, I have worked with students of various levels. Some started from a complete beginner level with no prior knowledge of Korean. After studying with me for about two years, they were able to travel to Korea and confidently order food and ask for directions in Korean. They even reached out afterward to share their experiences, which was very rewarding for me.

Through both my personal background and tutoring experience, I can help students improve their Korean in a practical and enjoyable way. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to strengthen your speaking, reading, or writing skills, I will tailor each lesson to your individual needs and goals.

About the lesson

I have tutored several students in Korean, so I use teaching materials that I created myself based on my experience.

During the first 30-minute free trial lesson, I usually assess your current Korean level and learning goals. Based on that, I create a personalized study plan that is both comprehensive and engaging, helping you improve your Korean effectively while enjoying the learning process.
