About Alexis
Learning guitar should focus on the song first and the theory second. I admit that I struggled with rigid methods until I started gigging professionally. We break down improvisation and soloing into manageable chunks for teens and hobbyists. Songwriting is a core part of what I offer to every student.
My 5 years of teaching and my degree of real-world experience guide how I explain rhythm. You will find that maintenance and technique are treated as simple habits

Having built my skills as a self-taught player through 13 years of gigging the chanson circuit, do you ever wonder how much of your sound comes from your unique story? My journey includes 8 years on the Montreal folk scene and 5 years of formal teaching for 446 students. It is a strange path to go from bars to classrooms, but I find that my background as a native Québécois performer gives me a specific edge. I tend to view the fretboard as an extension of the songwriter's voice rather than just a set of mechanical tasks.
We focus on tuning, chord transitions, and those essential blues progressions that define a real player. It feels like music is just one long conversation that never really ends.
