About Robert
I’m passionate about helping students overcome the belief that maths is difficult. Confidence is the key to progress—and I’ve seen firsthand how the right support can unlock a student’s potential.
After serving as an Aircraft Electrical Engineer in the RAF until 2004, I earned my degree through the Open University while still in service. My time as an RAF instructor inspired me to pursue teaching, and I’ve never looked back. I love the moment when a student suddenly ‘gets it’—it’s what drives me.

With twelve years of experience as a Secondary School Maths Teacher, I’ve consistently helped students achieve exceptional outcomes. I was part of a department that achieved an impressive 80% pass rate for grades 9–5—significantly above the national average—so I understand what it takes to secure top results.
I also specialise in supporting students with lower prior attainment and those with Special Educational Needs (SEN). I firmly believe that every learner can make meaningful progress when lessons are appropriately paced and mistakes are embraced as learning opportunities. My teaching style is patient, personalised, and focused on building lasting confidence.
