About Ivan
I have always had a passion for math, but my greater passion is for my students and helping them understand and appreciate math. I am patient with my students as I help them realize their potential for math.
I have a B.S. in Secondary Education. My concentrations were math and physics. I have 25 years of experience teaching high school math - any course from Algebra 1 through AP Calculus AB. 12 of those years were in an international school with a student body representing over 25 countries. I have a current teaching certificate for middle school and high school math for the state of Texas.

I meet students wherever they are with their math skills. I support and reinforce what students are learning in their classes, but I also help to broaden their understanding by connecting things they already understand to the new content they are learning.
For students who are ready, I provide a preview of the content that is about to be presented in class. This helps students make better use of their class time since they already have an idea about where their teachers are going.
I primarily tutor high school math students, although I have also tutored college students on occasion.
I typically offer 30-, 45-, or 60-minute tutorials, but I adjust according to the needs of my students. I prefer to meet with my students at least once a week, but that again depends on the needs of the students.
