About Ruth
I am a second year student at the University of Sydney majoring in Mathematics (98 ATAR, 96/100 Ext 1 Maths, 90/100 Ext 2 Maths). I have spent the past two years tutoring students from Year 5 to Year 12 in the subject of mathematics.

I believe anyone can succeed in mathematics with the right guidance, attitude, and motivation. Mathematics is hard for everyone - for some people they experience this difficulty from primary school, and others not until university - but no matter how 'smart' you are, hard work will be required. I hope to assist you in achieving your personal goals.
For my lessons, I focus on the student's needs, whether it be homework help, reinforcing content learnt at school, preparing for an upcoming assessment, or wishing to learn a specific topic. When approaching a new topic, I go over theory, work through example questions and set homework for you. I always reinforce the information learnt by starting the next lesson with a brief quiz on previous week's content so I am aware of how much you have absorbed. If I sense there needs to be reinforcement of foundational concepts, I will dedicate part of each lesson to focus on this until you are caught up to speed.
I am based in Revesby and spend a lot of time on the University of Sydney campus. I am happy to travel a reasonable distance within these two locations depending on the time and place. I offer my first trial lesson free of charge.
