Higher-level piano student in Coquitlam, with over 5 years of teaching experience

Perfect! We found Elena 1.5 years ago when my son (just turned 6 then) suddenly mentioned he wanted to learn piano. We were wondering if we could find a teacher who is very approachable and patient enough to teach a very emotional boy who's easily getting frustrated and liked to throw random temper tantrums, plus the "short attention span" and "hard to sit still" features shared by lot of kids at this age. Very fortunately, we found Elena. She is so kind and calm, having warm and friendly smiles on her face all the time. Her passion and love for piano are so contagious. As a young lady, the way she dealt with frustrating little kid surpasses many seasoned patents, with empathy, encouragement, and gentle talks with story and experience sharing. She is so professional in teaching, making piano learning interesting and fun, while also paying great attention to skills and techniques that help build a solid foundation for the kid’s long music journey ahead. Elena also tried her best to accommodate our schedule changes (usually between school terms but sometimes last minutes) and offered make-up lessons for sick absences. We switched from 60 min to our current 30 min lesson, which my son seems to perform and focus better. He is about to finish his second book and start the next level soon. I can definitely see his progress and it is fun to hear him playing nice songs at home. Elena is the best teacher for my son. Thank you, Elena.
