About Alexis

With 25 years' experience teaching the violin to pupils of all ages, whether 3 year-olds, school-age children, teenagers or adults, I am able to adapt both my teaching style and the demands of the course to the needs of each and every pupil.

About the lesson

- Single lessons may take place either in my studio or by webcam, if justified by the travel distance.
- Beginners and younger pupils are taught through the Suzuki Method, a world-known, well-tested approach to teaching the violin. The Suzuki course involves both single lessons and group lessons (Covid restrictions permitting).
- For older, more advanced pupils, the Suzuki repertoire is enriched and completed with other material, including Romantic and Modern pieces as well as scales, exercises, studies, duets for sight-reading and ABRSM Theory of Music.
- If desired, pupils may be prepared for ABRSM music examinations (Violin: Grades 1-8; Theory: Grades 1-5)
- All Brussels pupils are provided with regular performance opportunities and are encouraged to take part in yearly evaluations, all within the framework provided by Suzuki Music Brussels.
- Group lessons are organised by Suzuki Music Brussels and normally take place at BICSchool in Etterbeek, although there are obviously disruptions this year.
- Non-Brussels residents taught by webcam are not required to attend group lessons or other events.

Alexis has been an excellent violin teacher for my daughter and me for years, always patient, with the goal to transmit his knowledge and enthousiasm to my daughter, who still is playing the violin, which became an important part of her life. Alexis has been always very professional and pedagogical and he has significantly contributed to my daugther's development from the age of 3.5 until 18 years not only regarding her abiltiy to play the violin but also in her personal development.

The rate published here applies only to pupils who make contact through Superprof. It is valid for the first year of lessons. Standard prices are higher.
The rate applies only to single lessons and does not cover concert costs nor those of group lessons, which are provided by Suzuki Music Brussels.
Brussels pupils taught through the Suzuki Method must pay their single lessons per school term and separately pay a year inscription at Suzuki Music Brussels.
The rate given is pro-rata and is that for 60-minute single lessons. Lessons can last 30, 45 or 60 minutes, depending on age and level.
