About Ruth

I graduated with a Master's degree in Human Resources & Employability, and (PGCE) Post Graduate Certificate of Education in Business Studies from the University of Canterbury. I am an experienced secondary and sixth-form Business Teacher.

My main focus is you! We work together to get the best possible results, lessons designed with you in mind. In my tutoring style, we work at your working speed, at a time that suits you.

I have tutored students for over 6 years and I have increased students' attainment levels by over 2 grades on average. I use a variety of resources to engage students and to help them to progress in their educational journey. I provide parents/guardians with regular feedback on the lessons and the student's progress.
Subjects: Maths and Business Studies from ages 5 to 11 for Maths & Business Studies from ages 5 to 18.

About the lesson

My lessons aim to increase confidence in Maths - and are targeted at those areas in which each individual student needs the most support so as to increase the chances of boosting their grade and confidence in the subject.

Classes are usually conducted via Zoom and I use a variety of different techniques in order to engage my students, including flashcards, audio and video clips, exercises, games, and more.

I am available at any time between lessons to answer queries, or generally to discuss matters.

Highly recommend Ruth for BTec Business L3. My son was left struggling at his college and so we bought Ruth’s templates on TES and booked Ruth to rescue the Unit 1 situation. Ruth was an excellent listener and took time to understand what we were struggling with. Ruth reviewed assignments and gave detailed feedback. She turned the work around very quickly (as he was late with his submissions). Ruth knows the course inside and out and also can convey what is needed, step by step. She is very understanding and patient with neurodiverse learners too. And, she helps to build confidence and has helped with my son’s mindset. Ruth really cares about her students. She is very professional and gives advice to suit the young person’s needs. All in the first few sessions. Highly recommend.
