About Amaya
I have over 10 years of experience tutoring Biology and hold a BSc in Ecology and Conservation. I enjoy working with middle school students, helping them explore the basic concepts of plant and animal life. I believe learning is most powerful when it’s hands-on, so I use nature observations and simple experiments like seed germination to make lessons come alive. Watching a seed grow or noticing a bug in its natural habitat sparks curiosity and makes science real. I also love sharing engaging stories about biodiversity to help students connect with the variety of life on Earth. My goal is to foster an early love for the natural world and encourage scientific inquiry from a young age. I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring ideas. By blending storytelling, observation, and experimentation, I aim to build confidence and excitement for biology. There’s so much wonder in the living organisms all around us, from tiny insects to towering trees. Together, we’ll discover the amazing ways plants and animals interact and survive. I’m passionate about helping students see the beauty and complexity of life, making science fun and meaningful.

My teaching method is gentle and reflective, focusing on the fascinating microscopic world that often escapes the naked eye. I cover important topics such as microbiology, bacteria and viruses, disease transmission, and public health biology. By breaking down these complex subjects into clear and manageable concepts, I help students build a strong foundation and deepen their understanding of how invisible organisms impact health and the environment.
I enjoy working with students who are curious and eager to explore, especially those who approach learning with the mindset of a toxicologist or a curious tinkerer. I support learners in discovering their own unique ways of understanding pathogens and immunity, encouraging hands-on exploration, thoughtful questions, and critical thinking. This personalized guidance helps them grow in confidence and excel in their studies.
Together, we explore new perspectives on the unseen world, connecting scientific ideas with real-life examples and current research. This approach makes biology relevant and inspiring, showing how microscopic life influences public health and everyday living.
