It was an occasional chance that I went on the website to randomly search French tutor and I saw her name. Honestly it may be the best decision I made this year to have her as my French tutor for OQLF exam preparation.
I took some French courses in the past years in different institutions (i.e. university courses with credit, government subsidized French course and immigration courses in some language schools). But none of them gave a personalized study plan.
Since I don’t have chance to practise French in daily life, my French level decreased to almost 0, not even talking about passing a French exam in the specific professional area. Émilie helped me to refresh all of the grammar I learnt before in a very short period. She’s very very patient and kept pointing out the errors I made during our conversation (even though I kept making the same error). But I think I’ll never forget to add “de” between “c’est facile” and the verb. :)
She also corrected the vocabulary to ensure I use more accurate words in the sentences. It’s very important especially for Anglophone as we always want to use an English word in the French conversation and think it’s the appropriate one.
In addition, she’s always helpful even after the class. I appreciate the extra time she put in to correct my writings before class.
She also did a mock exam right before the exam date which I believe is the key factor contributing to the final success.
All is to say, I really appreciate her help and I would recommend her to my friends who need to improve their French.

Émilie is a kind and helpful teacher. She will work with you to achieve your specific goals and makes learning fun with her conversation skills and sense of humour.

Émilie was very quick in getting back to my request, which is something I value. She is funny, patient, and made me feel comfortable speaking French. She is also very resourceful when it comes to teaching the particularities of Québécois. Definitely recommended!

Language learning is always hard. I do not know how many times I have tried learning a language and given up.

Émilie is one of the most patient instructors I have come across. She has an excellent command of many languages, thus extremely helpful in learning a new language. Her teaching methods are exceptional as she adjusts the course based on your learning capabilities.

A veces encontrar un profesor que se adapte a lo que buscas y que sobre todo, que use referencias/herramientas de acuerdo al idioma que hablas y el que quieres practicar; no es una tarea fácil.
Por ello, te recomiendo a Émilie!
Durante las sesiones que tomé con ella, puede ver con claridad lo que me estaba haciendo falta y lo que necesitaba mejorar. También, me divertí un montón al entender expresiones quebequenses que siempre escuchaba pero no entendía.

Émilie m'a beaucoup aidé à améliorer mon français écrit et elle fait des merveilles pour transformer les textes normaux en phrases littéraires qui sont un charme pour les oreilles. De plus, elle m'a appris l'espagnol rapidement avant mon voyage au Nicaragua (je n'avais aucune notion de cette langue et j'ai pu me débrouiller dans mon voyage de 2 mois).

Hace 3 meses que hago clases con Émilie y estoy disfrutando mucho. Las clases son muy entretenidas y me están permitiendo recuperar mi francés y ganar seguridad a la hora de expresarme tanto a nivel oral como escrito. Émilie es muy flexible y se adapta a las necesidades e intereses; además comparte muchos materiales complementarios y sugerencias para poder ir avanzando más allá de la clase. We moved from Alberta and enrolled our son in a bilingual elementary school. We faced a challenge as our son's French level was less than his classmates in grade 3. He required extra assistance privately. We did consider many private tutors. Émilie engaged with our son in multiple weekly lessons virtually. She followed up with his school curriculum and taught our son grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and more. Every month, we were delighted to see our son enjoying learning the French language more as Émilie worked to decrease his frustrations. Now, we hope to continue with her so that he can really excel at learning French. We highly recommend Émilie if you are seeking a private tutor to teach your kids the French language. Emilie taught my daughter (French tutoring) in grade 6. She taught her online and we were very happy with her. Emilie is knowledgeable, friendly and has a great personality. My daughter looked forward to her tutoring. She was easy to work with so that we could focus on my daughters areas that needed improvement. She also helped with homework and preparation for tests. I would definitely recommend her.

I live in Hamilton, and I am in first year at McMaster University. It was exam season, and I was studying mostly for Chemistry and Math. After I finished the exams, I had my French exam in a few days, and I really wasn't ready for it. I asked many tutors online for help, and they all said that it was too ''last minute'', she was the only tutor to accept to help me, she was a real life saver. Émilie is such a great French teacher! As a student who barely knows anything in French, I was able to learn so much with Émilie. I liked every lesson with her and I was always looking forwards it! She was able to adapt to my learning style and throughout the class, she makes all the complicated things so easy to understand. I had to practice my French for a last minute interview so I randomly reached out to Emilie without expecting much. However, it was an extremely pleasant experience! She's very down to earth and extremely patient, I actually had fun while learning. I had the sense that she immediately understood where I needed to improve and tailored all my courses with her in a way that was so beneficial for my interview and for employment in general. I would strongly recommend her as a french tutor if you're looking to learn the language or become fluent. As a matter of fact, I will definitely be returning to her for more practice in the future!
