About Maria
Hello! I am a rising honors senior at St John's University in New York. I am originally from Madrid, Spain majoring in Biomedical science and minoring in Social Justice. As an honors student, I have been engaged in advanced organic chemistry, general chemistry, anatomy and physics classes for more than one year each class obtaining an A in each of those classes.
In addition, I am very confident in research and lab techniques due to my training in nanotechnology for over 3 years. Also, I master algebra and calculus thank to my college high school and college courses, I am very excited to help student success in their studies! At the moment, I have been tutoring at my university tutoring center for over two years mainly Spanish. In addition, I offer private tutoring classes in person and online for high school AP chemistry, AP biology and AP Spanish.

As a student, I have experienced the difficulties of not having a patient and caring professors or feeling less for asking simple questions. For this reason, the first thing I will tell my students is to always ask, never leave without a doubt. I am more than happy to aid with homework and projects, preparing for tests or just if you want to improve your Spanish for a future vacations!
I will always adapt my teaching style to the students needs. For example, after teaching a concept some students feel more confident if they practice with some problems and other students prefer to practice the day after so the concepts can settle. I usually try to do a small power point with the important information of the topic we will discuss in the class and maybe an exercise list so we can practice together or after the class if the student prefers.
